Black Eyed Peas: A New Year’s Tradition

In many Southern homes a New Year’s Tradition is to eat black eyed peas and some form of greens.  Eating these items on New Year’s Day is thought to supply you with good luck, wealth and health for the New Year!   We are not usually a superstitious family (I think it is just a good excuse to eat black eyed peas and greens)!

This year I decided to change it up a bit and create a Black Eyed Pea Salsa!  It is a quick, easy and delicious appetizer or side dish!  When I was testing this recipe, my family ate it all in one setting!  I knew I was on to something!  You can see the video on my YouTube Channel here Black Eyed Pea Salsa!

For the greens, I’m going to have a kale salad with an orange vinaigrette.  From Jenna’s Kitchen, we wish you a Happy New Year and a year filled with luck, health and wealth!
